Meet The Team
Dr. Gary Sneag - Optometrist
Dr. Gary Sneag has practiced optometry since 1977. He graduated and
completed his Fellowship and Residency at Pennsylvania College of
Optometry. He has lectured and presented at various conferences
internationally. Dr. Sneag has a Diplomate in Binocular Vision and is also a
Fellow of the College of Vision Development. He is specialized in the field of vision therapy and loves to positively change the lives of individuals in the
learning process. He enjoys the challenges of fitting all kinds of contact
lenses, diagnosing and treatment of disease as well as prescribing low vision aids and magnifiers for visually impaired patients. He also enjoys managing
his patients for the latest technology in refractive surgery.
He is the president of the local group of COVD optometrists in San Diego.
Dr. Melanie Langford - Optometrist
Dr. Melanie Langford received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She also
chose to complete a residency with the University of California Berkeley at
the Palo Alto VA Hospital where she specialized in primary care and low
vision. Dr. Langford practices full scope optometry and she enjoys working with patients of all ages. She is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease with therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, primary open angle glaucoma, and lacrimal irrigation and dilation.
In her free time, she enjoys running and going to Balboa Park with her dog,
Dr. Danny VanDan - Optometrist
Born and raised in San Diego, Dr. VanDan began working as an optician and
optometry office manager for 9 years. Finding his passion in optometry, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from University of California, San
Diego in 2009, and then his doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry in 2013. Graduating with honors, Dr. VanDan also received the Cribb Leadership and Service Scholarship and Colleague of the Year. He practiced full scope optometry and specialty contact lenses in Colorado for 3 years and moved back to his hometown in San Diego.
In his spare time, Dr. VanDan loves hiking, spending time with his wife Annie, and playing with his nephews and nieces.
Lori - Office Manager and Billing
Tori - Optometric Technician
Tori begins your examination and performs all of the vision diagnostic tests required before you see the doctor. She also manages our online store, and helps with in-house IT issues. Tori is a UC Santa Barbara graduate, Clairemont native, and the office crazy cat lady.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and searching for the perfect carnitas taco.
Rina - Frame Board Manager/Dispensing Optician
Abraham - Lab Manager/Dispensing Optician
Abraham ensures that our on-site lab offers our patients the most efficient
and up to date service. He is well experienced in this field and has a great
customer care attitude. He brings a multitude of skills as a certified
dispensing optician. Abraham has the ability to know what frame fits your
needs and does it with a big smile on his face. His knowledge on eyeglass
lenses, contact lenses and lab skills brings a wonderful depth to our staff.
Javier - Contact Lens Manager/Dispensing Optician
Sarah - Refractive Surgery Coordinator/Dispensing Optician
Sarah is an American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certified optician and has been in the optical field for over eight years. She is our care coordinator for refractive surgeries and is our social media manager.
As a transplant from Texas, she enjoys exploring Pacific Beach and all the landmarks of San Diego.
Christina - Vision Therapist
A San Diego native, Christina moved to the Clairemont area 12 years ago, and is excited to empower patients in reaching their fullest potential. She believes that with understanding, grit of character and a positive mindset, anything can be accomplished.
Christina enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two sons.
Mary - Vision Therapist
Mary started working as a vision therapist for Family Vision Care in 2004.
She loves working with children and their families through the vision
therapy program! Mary has a B.S. in Psychology and experience working
with children of all ages.
Outside of the office, Mary stays busy as a mother of two girls, ages 5 and 1.
